anyways ill talk about how music taste actually reflects ur personality!! ps i don't actually judge a person based on their music taste i just try and get a vibe of what their personality is like from their music taste 

anyways im currently reading an article on music taste and personality so i can actually prove to you guys SCIENTIFICALLY that one's music taste and personality are actually linked so the article says that there are multiple psychological test proving that music taste and preferences are actually linked to our cognitive styles (the way our brains work, how we react to things, the way we think, etc) 

one of the studies showed how musical preference reveals our capacity level of empathy (the ability to understand and share ones emotions) and it shows that mellow and rnb type of music is linked to higher levels of empathy while more intense music like rock and metal are linked to more logical thinking or whatever. to put it in the way i see it theres two groups, one that leans towards feelings and one that leans towards thinking and logical stuff or whatever MEANING one that listens to their heart and one that listens to their head

the study also found that people with more gentle, warm, and sensual personality types or whatever lean towards sad and calming songs with emotional depth while people with strong, tense, and thrilling personality types lean towards high arousal songs (which is upbeat music im guessing??) i listen to a mix of both and i am a mix of both personality types! that is so cool 

ok so the next study talks about the big five and the only thing u need u know about the big five are that theyre just different levels of each personality type; openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism (if u don't know the meanings of each personality type just search it up i don't feel like adding the meanings rn) 

ok so the study shows that self-assured people tend to listen to positive songs while those who seek excitement listen to high arousal songs and it also says that people who are open-minded have a more diverse music taste which makes sense because open minded means u can take in other people's opinions therefore taking in more music!!

OK NOW ITS GOING TO TALK ABOUT MBTI AND MUST I TELL U I LOVE THE MBTI PERSONALITY THING i love anything that has to do with personality and whatever cuz its just so interesting inf act i love people like people are just so interesting to study and understand but ANYWAYS mbti is like a personality system with 16 different personality types and theyre divided into 4 sections; analysts, diplomats (im a diplomat!!!), sentinels, and explorers 

PLEASE TAKE THE TEST i would love to understand you guys more also DONT TAKE THE 16PEROSNALITIES TEST EITHER its not accurate anyways each category actually has a different style of music 

the analysts are what i call the nerd category. they all share the thinking trait which means they're more in their head than they are in their heart ACUTALLY IDK THATS JUST WHAT I ASSUME the mbti system is more complicated than you think i just haven't researched it yet but anyways they probably use their head more than their heart and they LOVE things that are controversial and theyre also perfectionist probably they are big self-improvers and they push the boundaries but anyways this personality type is said to listen to jazz, rock, and classical music which makes sense

classical and jazz is actually linked with intelligence while rock is linked with logical thinking so yeah!!

in contrast we have the diplomats (ME GUYS THATS ME IM A DIPLOMAT) which are more in their heart than their head and are more emotionally developed and accepting and theyre characterized by their emotional depth and intensity AND THEY ALSO REALLY LIKE DEEP CONVERSATIONS OVER SMALL TALK WHICH MAKES SENSE because theyre so emotionally developed and stuff and theyre probably into like really deep meanings and they love connecting with others and being generous and harmonious but anyways they prefer to listen to any music with blues, soul, world and alternative (which is not true guys i do not listen to soul and blues) 

nevermind guys soul and blues music is actually kinda nice im going to go rethink my actions now

lets analyze my music tatse and personality because i feel like it!  look at this playlist!! it pretty much sums up my music taste because yeah so anyways when u look at it u see theres a lot of alternative and indie music but theres also some happy and hopeful songs?? i don't know but for example we have be around me and close to you by dayglow im too lazy to put in the link but these songs both represent me pretty well not only because well you see theyre just really ENERGETIC BUT ALSO I DONT KNOW THEY JUST DO BUT HERES AN ACTUAL SONG THAT I THINK REPRSENTS MY VIBE PRETTY WELL

yes im basing these songs off VIBE not the actual MEANING because the meaning oft his song is kind of about sexual stuff and uhhhhhh anyways !! cologne by beabadoobee!!! great song my actual favorite i love it so so so much 

although you may not see me as this song i think i know myself better than you so do not talk about how this song does NOT represent me but then it doesn't fully represent it i think it just represents my moods like how the guitar is so intense but then her voice is so calming and beautiful and angelic like while the guitar is so BOOM BOOM BOOM YKWIM?!??! 

well idk if that song really represents me because i dont think i reflect my actual personality and thoughts well because a lot of people dont actually know what i actually ACT LIKE because then i try to act the way i want to but then is that really the way i act or is it just an act?? so when i try to act like what i want i end up not acting like myself but then my perception of identity is pretty bad so let me just stop talking real quick

also close to you by dayglow is a great example of my personality because its very energetic first of all but that's not really representative of my personality actually no it kinda is because i get very excited over things and my feelings are really intense at times but then im also really BOM BOOM AS IN HAPPY BUT THEN LIKE I GET RANDOM RUSHES OF SEROTONIN and i think this song represents that very well also its a love song pretty sure but anyways

also when i listen to this song i kind of dance also i dance in the kitchen to songs and i mean like DANCE LIKE you know when you just jump up and down and randomly flail your arms around yeah that's what i do okay wait that makes me sound weird okay wait JUST move on

technically all the songs that i think represent me are really energetic and dance-worthy or whatever but yeah i tink the reason why is because theyre just my favorite songs overall and i think that's the type of vibe my personality gives off but honestly other people might think differently which is why i would normally ask other people what type of song vibe i give off OK WAIT ILL DO THAT RN
